Thanks for coming out and participating in the...
Rodeo School!
Friday July 1, 2011 at the Strathmore Ag Society Rodeo Grounds
Great for the very beginner...
...and a refresher for those who have done it before!
If you have ever wanted to learn how all those cowboys and cowgirls do those events, come try them out! Our very first rodeo school is geared for the very beginner that has never competed before. Come learn all about:
- Calf Roping on Foot (Roping 101) – FULL
- Steer Decorating
- Chute Dogging
- Jr. Bull Riding
This is a great way to learn – it's a stress free environment, you will be instructed by experienced cowboys and cowgirls, and you can practice your event more than once (time permitting). It's also a great refresher for those who have that have entered before to get warmed up, practice with the stock, and maybe learn a new technique or two!
Go to the online Rodeo School Enrolment Form on the top of this document, and click it to open a rodeo school application!
The deadline for Rodeo School enrolment is June 24, 2011. Space is limited, so enrol early! Late entries received after Monday June 20, 2010 might be accepted, based on space availability and if approved by the facilitator.
Each event is $25.00 CDN per person. The online form uses PayPal and all major credit cards are accepted. It's a great deal – like we have said before, there is expert instruction, it's relaxed and unhurried, and you can try your event as many times as time permits!

That's all you need to get you started! ARGRA has a supply of ropes, protective vests, helmets (size permitting), and steer rigging for you to use if you so wish – or bring your own!

A word on some of our instructors...
Chuck Browning has won over 200 buckles to date, and was just recently inducted into the IGRA Cowboy Hall of Fame. Chuck has competed in all 13 IGRA events, and has won 13 International Championships: (3 Bull Riding, 1 Bareback, 1 Steer Riding, 3 Chute Dogging, 1 Calf Roping on Foot, 3 Goat Dressing, and one Steer Decorating) & several All-Around Cowboy Titles.
Brian Helander has been competing since 1995 in roping, speed, rough-stock and camp events. He is a four time international chute dogging champion (2000, 2004, 2006 and 2008). These are great resources with a lot of experience!
